Karla is having a party today that I think you will enjoy! Her "Romantic Country Party" is being held to celebrate her latest feature in this month's beautiful issue of Romantic Country magazine and she has invited all of us to stop by for a visit to join in the fun! Party goers are also invited to share what they love about their own homes on their blogs today and Karla will post their links so that we may all stop by for a visit too. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? Well it is ALWAYS fun to visit Karla - and if you haven't before, please knock on her door today and you will be as tickled pink as I was when I first showed up on her doorstep. She's a ball of never-ending energy and creativity and I just marvel at all of the beautiful things that she accomplishes!
What do I love about my own home? Well, you know that I pretty much love everything about our old home and that things are always changing around here, never staying the same for long! From the front porch to the back porch, I have so enjoyed filling Daisy Cottage with bold color and thrifted treasures for cheery fun - but do I think that a home filled with lots of red and yellow can be "romantic" too? Hmm, well, YES - I really do! When you embrace every inch of your home, and of course, love the souls that you share your home with with all of your heart - well then your home IS a romantic one. Right? Right! ;-) So here are a few pictures that I am bringing to Karla's party and I hope that YOU are romancing your own homes - by "wining and dining" them, taking time to lovingly play and create with everyday things, making them special with your personal touch. You will soon be "feeling the love". I promise!
I couldn't agree more. A romantic home may take many forms, what matters most is the care and affection that we show it and its inhabitants.
I have only recently began to romance my home. I have always considered it small an cramped. I have overlooked its potential. I am thankful to you and others who have challenged and inspired me to look beyond its limitations and recognize the hidden gem within.

Here's what I love about your home: first, that you share it with all of us. Also, I love, love, love the red and yellow and green. That top photo I think is the first I've seen of your palette on a larger scale, and I ADORE IT! With the white...it's all just yummy! My palette is turquoise, orange, and your green, which I also love, with a lot of wood that I now want to paint white! :)

What a beautiful celebration of your home. Your pictures are gorgeous and you've done a wonderful job decorating. I think it's great that you incorporate thrifting into your efforts because it reminds me that I don't need expensive things to make a home.
I think the best thing about your home is that you cherish and love it--that's the essentials, isn't it?

Lovely as always, Kim. I couldn't get it together today to have a party, but the door is always open, party or no! :-)
I think you are right, homes with red and yellow can be very romantic! You don't have to have an all pink or white one, you just have to have one that is completely YOU. Mine has lots of red and yellow, not like yours at all, but its own unique red and yellow mix, but I find mine to be romantic too. Isn't it fun that everyone can have totally different styles and we can enjoy each one of them? I get so inspired by all the different ways to have a lovely romantic home.
Happy evening, Kim!

Your home is an inspiration...and is exactly the cosy, love-filled style that we are aiming for at our own slice of heaven in Australia. It truly makes a difference in the lives of the children who come into our care, to have a home that embraces, comforts, nurtures and uplifts the spirit. Your style achieves all this and more. Thanks for sharing your style with us.
