Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Queen Bee

I love your noteboard :) The little daisies are so cute!

What a great idea to display your personal notes! You should get a nice warm feeling each time you glance at them :o) Love, love, love that doggie lounging bed. Just toooo cute and of course, the sweet pooch is adorable and I wouldn't dare mention her bow legs, lol. I really enjoyed my visit. Keep up the great blog, Diane

Great noteboard!
And what a good idea to hang up your notes like that. It's such a blessing to see things like that out in the open, a reminder every time you pass them of your friends' thoughtfulness :)

God bless :)

The bulletin board is adorable, but omg, look at Miss Maggie on her snazzy bed! My cats and dog are jealous!

Ah, Maggie, you are loved and happily spoiled!!
I have also wondered, Kim, what your office is like (could you post more pics, pu-lease?!). I think it's fun to see the actual computer where all this great blogging is created.
The bulletin board is wonderful and I especially noticed that you used buttons as tacks. Was that a project of yours? Great idea!
Have a happy weekend.

I love the board full of special notes. Wish I could stop by and see Miss Maggie's wonderful lounging spot. She's a very lucky dog! It's perfect for your place. ~Adrienne~

What a great idea and how wonderful to have all of your cards displayed to remind you of the those who love you! I think Maggie appreciates your love!!! Sweet little girl.

What an absolutely adorable bench and how lovely for your special girl to have her own spot.
That's a clever way to display the blogger love too...I have a treasure box I keep those kinds of cards and notes in...but...I like this idea to see them all the time. hmmm

the Feathered Nest

What a good place to keep all those loving notes. Love the red rickrack and Miss Maggie's new couch is cute (although she looks a little sad - no place like mommie's lap I suppose)!

karla nathan

I'm glad you liked the tag!

Esther Sunday

Perfect sofa for little Maggie!
Love, Esther

I love your new creation...the bulletin board looks fab...and of course I noticed you have Daisy pins...and the red ric-rac is especially a nice touch!

Your Maggie is one lucky little lady...and I'm sure she deserves every ounce of love she gets...she's a doll...and what expressiosn she has...really you should think about getting her an agent...she could make millions in Hollywood!! I wish I could find something big enough like that for our Maggie...she doesn't sit in my lap...thank goodness...she'd break my legs...but she does love laying right beside me when I'm in my office, too...she needs a throne or majestic doggie bed...I'm going to have to come up w/something clever. I did see one time where a lady cut the legs off a low back wooden chair she had...she made a cute pillow w/a big ruffle on it...and she used it as her dog looked like a little throne....hmmmm...I'm going to have to find something...

Thanks for sharing...

That is so nice. Love the board.
That bench is adorable. Lucky Maggie!

Such a cute board and omg daisy pins!!!
Maggie is a fortunate pup!

The beautiful thing about receiving hand written notes and letters is that you have something tangible to hold, feel and look at again and again. The board is a wonderful way to enjoy thoses notes every day.....

Sweet dog bed too!

I have a note board too, getting a bit full, have to move some along to a scrap book.
COGRATS TO YOU!!!! Saw your cute little yellow house in the new ROMANTIC HOME MAGAZINE, AS A MUST VISIT WEB SITE. Good for you.
Oh boy a vintage store right near you, how nice is that?? I have to go to the thrift near me at least twice a week, always come home with good stuff. My house shows it too. Lots of good stuff.
Love looking at your blog.

How lovely to have blog friends willing to send you sweet little notes and treats in the mail! You lucky girl! I like that you displayed them, handwriting is so personal and pretty.

Sara Duckett

Love the bench and your letter board. Maggie looks adorable lounging on it.

That is such a sweet display, Kim. Most of us don't write things much anymore, so those are treasures, I know. Love your new board, it's perfect for your hand-written notes.

Maggie sure looks content on her cute little bench. Perfect for her little self!

I need to make one of these boards someday! Oh that black and white lounge is too cute!!

I'm in love with the large white buffet or dresser behind Miss Maggie's princess bed! ;) BEAUTIFUL piece of furniture!

I always love coming to Daisy Cottage to see what's going on! And your board of lovely notes is wonderful! Thanks for sharing your world Kim. It's always a pleasure. Also, I would LOVE to come and visit "Vintage" boy that looks like a fun place! :)

That is such a beauitful way to display such treasures. I'm loving your black and white bench. Gorgeous!

In this email age, it is so nice to receive a handwritten note. You are truly Lucky to have received so many!

I love the bench for Maggie. It is so Daisy cottage.

What a lovely memo board full of love! Friends are indeed blessings to cherish. The polka dot bench for Maggie is adorable.

SOOO cute!! (And it made me smile that my note is up there - of COURSE I looked for it!) Maggie's bed is adorable!! Our dogs (we have two Airedale terriers - one large and one extra-large) are not civilized enough for such a cute bed. Amybe I need another dog. :)

Barbara @ Southern Lady's Vintage

Love the polka dot bench that you have for Maggie! You are very blessed, Kim, to have such great friends! Just look at all those precious notes! It's nice to have them all out so that you can enjoy them!

The bulletin board is a great idea and you made it stylish as well! The bench for Maggie though is better than my couch, it is so cute!!! She has to be the most pampered dog I know.

I love it. I just love it! Every eensy teensy detail. It's all fabulous, Kim.

Your ofice is awesome! I have an office too, but mine is really a very small room, and not nearly as comfortable and sweet as your's!

Susan Ramey Cleveland

What a fabulous office. You have inspired me to straighten up my office. I'm not saying I'll do it--but you have inspired me. :-) --Susan

It's a beautiful & cozy spot.....I love your style. What a neat way to display all you notes too!

I LOVE your use of polka dots and checks!!!

kim in Camas - ScrapToMyLu

I'm glad to see the double knob look on your cabinet. I was thinking about doing that on my china hutch Stella. The pulls I need should be 5in pulls.......that is so hard to find! So I thought I would just do single knobs......wasn't sure how they would look and tada.....there was your post!

Kim your office is just precious, just like the rest of Daisy Cottage!! Where did you get the cute poka dot bench for Maggie?? I just love anything with poka dots!! Have a geat week!! Can't wait for your next post!!

Amanda (aka Cottage Contessa)

Hi Kim! Can I just say how green with envy I am looking at your gorgeous office space! I don't think I could get much work done in there though, I'd be too busy day dreaming...... & ooohh-ing & aaahhh-ing over I adore Miss Maggie's new lounge too, my little Paris Fifi would love to snuggle up on there!

Kim- Seeing your office makes me want to come hang out with you and pour over all your books and treasures, all so artfully- arranged & in the midst of such delectable color and charm! I can tell you love your creative space as much as I enjoy mine. You are one talented (and equally sweet)lady.I don't stop by here often enough, but need to make it a point to do so! • "It's people like yourself that make everything beautiful and worthwhile." ~ Fifi

Thank You Ida!

  • Kim I just wanted to thank you again for allowing us into your sweet home! I absolutely loved being there and looking around with you. Your hospitality and sweet spirit make the home even more beautiful! Thanks for reminding me that one day I too will have my "dream come true!" ~ Ida - MOPS Member

Thank You Jane!

  • "I just discovered your blog and am blown away with the comfortable, almost nostalgic feel of it...almost like finding a long-lost friend after many years apart...somehow familiar, but all so exciting and new." ~ Jane

Thank You Dena!

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Jeanette!

  • "Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

Thank You Rose!

  • "What I love best about Daisy Cottage is Kim. I love the way you appreciate every good thing in life and embrace joy in every moment." ~ Rose

Thank You Lisa!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

Thank you Pamela!

  • "I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela

Thank you Joy!

  • "Your blog has helped me start to see the beauty in life again." ~ Joy

Thank You Anne!

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne

Thank You Tracy!

  • "Your words and thoughts of encouragement help me see myself with value. You are a blessing. Thank you." ~ Tracy

Thank you Karen!

  • "Your humble spirit has not changed through your many posts here in Blogland. You have been blessed with a special gift and I am very thankful you share it with us." ~ Karen

Thank You Betty Jo!

  • "You truly inspire me to do whatever I can in my own little nest. I've always been an artistic dreamer, but you've enlarged my dreams with your way of seeing." ~ Betty Jo
