Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. Tea For Two And YOU

Mom and I had tea today at Camellia Rose, which is located just a town away. It was our first visit there and it was a delightful one. The attention to detail was wonderful and very appreciated by us. When I made the reservations, they wanted to know both of our first names and we understood why when we saw our pretty table ....

Luckily, I had my camera with me, so I took some pictures to share with you. Camellia Rose was dressed in its' finery, ready for the day's first tea. Everything was so feminine and pretty to see and I loved their collection of hats...

So Thoughtful

You know, every SINGLE day I am just amazed and so touched by the blogging community - from the kind and generous readers to the wonderful bloggers who share so much of their spirit with others... amazed AND so thankful for ALL of you.  And when I received this beautifully wrapped package from dear Debra and read her nice note (that is now pinned here) I was graced again with another random act of thoughtfulness.

All Clean

After playing in here all weekend, my office is all nice and clean and I'm hoping that I can keep it this way for a few days at least! ;-)  I need to finish the labels for these cute black & white folders and go through a few more drawers, but all in all, everything is in its' proper place and hopefully I can find the stamps and tape dispenser when I need to!

Some of you wanted to see more pictures of my office so I thought I'd share these today. I love having this space in our home - it is where I work on the family budget, pay the bills, write, spend dreamy quality time with my decorating books and of course, "chat" with you. I keep my gift wrapping supplies and other papery things in the brown dresser behind my red chair. The creamy buffet holds files, notebooks, and lots of miscellaneous things.  I just picked up the shaggy green rug from Lowe's - it is actually two rugs that I put side by side as one wouldn't have been wide enough. It is kind of silly looking - yet fun, don't you think? I hope you are having a wonderful Monday.. I'm going to make some more coffee and pay a few bills now!  xo, Kim

Notes From You

I spent some time yesterday, puttering around in my office and placing my CHERISHED notes and cards from you on this memo board that I got from Home Goods last week..... and because I am SO BLESSED with THE sweetest readers and blogging friends, I quickly realized that I need to go back and get another board so that I am able to display each one that I have received as I have kept them all. (((hugs)))   And, because it was obviously "Spoil Miss Maggie May Week", I also splurged on this black & white polka dotted bench for her to relax on when I am working in here...(she can't jump up on regular furniture as she is very very bow-legged... shhh, don't say anything as she is sensitive about that)     ;-)

Because I was busy, she WAS very content to lounge in style - but I know that as soon as I sit down, only my lap will do!

I am so glad that your VERY special notes and cards to me are no longer tied up with a bow, but displayed on my office wall so that I may think of you and THANK YOU each time that I glance that way.

A Lovely Shop

Am I the luckiest girl or what? A lovely shop, simply named "Vintage,Inc.", has just opened up in MY NEIGHBORHOOD!   Be still my heart! Angie, the sweet-as-can-be owner, kindly allowed me to take these pictures this morning of her charming spaces so that I could share them with you! Pour yourself a tall glass of tea and enjoy .....
