It was that time of day again, when the sweet rays of the late Florida sun were shining through our old front door and magically turning simple things, such as these mints, into a visual delight.
Something as simple as this silk flower resting in the green pot, became special, even if for a moment, because of the sun's golden touch...
And as the late afternoon rays seemed to dance through the room all too quickly, I was grateful, once again, that I was there to see and enjoy nature's gift of comforting light.
Gorgeous photos, Kim!! Can hardly beat beautiful sunlight for great photography!

Thank you Pat! It looks like "dust" is on the frame in the last photo but it is just the discoloration of the stain on the frame.. shabby, yes, dusty, NO! At least not this time! ;-)

Kim, you have always captured some beautiful photos in your sun-lit rooms. I'll have to be on the lookout for some "sun" opportunities too.
Hugs,
Rhoda

Thanks again for such wonderful pictures that give us a look at your beautiful home. I love the way sunlight plays on the ordinary things of life and magically captures those few inspiring moments.

I've been blurking for awhile, and wanted to tell you how much I love your cottage. We recently moved and I'm still trying to put my cottage together. So I had to laugh when I saw your candy dish. Yesterday I filled my candy dish and an hour later my 9-year olds had emptied it. Sigh.

Mmmmmmm, those mints do look delightful!!
Great pictures!
I like your comment on the dust Kim, and was wondering before how long it must take you to clean your beautiful home with so many gorgeous items in it ;)!

Omigosh - you watch the sun, too! I love that setting sunlight and the way it casts those long shadows and that golden glow on things. Love these pics! I love the light in my living room the best in the fall, when the sun is lower on the horizon, low enough to hit the prisms (a la Pollyanna) I have hanging in the window to create dancing rainbows throughout the room. Oooooh - you need some vintage prisms, Kim!

I am so like you! I adore when the afternoon sun comes in through the windows turning things in our little house golden and magical. I'll have to take some photos to share. xoxo

It's the little things in life that mean the most, and you made the most of those lovely "little" things.
Thank you for sharing, Kim!

Ah, Kim...I think we have talked about that special light before. It always makes me stop in my tracks that time of day when "our" sun just bathes us in that magical light. I also try to snap my pictures of the LR & DR at that time.
What a pretty picture!

Lovely! When the sun shines here.... I see dirty windows and dusty furniture! Thank goodness the sun doesn't shine often :) Thanks for sharing your beautiful pictures.

What a great outlook on things. I love that you appreciate even the simplest things in your home, like a bowl of mints. I love your blog!
