It was a hot and muggy yard sale morning ... and as our hair became frizzier and frizzier by the minute due to the humidity, my sister and I kept stumbling upon painted cottagy furniture that HAD to come home with us. The popular price tag of the day was $3 for EACH of these pieces and they were found at different sales! Isn't that fun? I love them just the way they are...
This will be a hectic week as Daisy Cottage will be getting a new GREEN roof ... but I'll try to share a few pictures of these painted goodies after I get them all cleaned up and introduce them to their new home. :-)
**************************************************************************************************
Edited to add this picture of the freshly scrubbed table with its' new accessories. I just quickly put this together this morning and I'm sure I'll be playing around with it some more. Oh and see the sweet "Coffee" cannister on the bottom shelf? Dear Teresa sent me a WHOLE box of cannisters that go with my vintagy green salt and pepper shakers! Wasn't that incredibly nice of her? Thank you again Teresa - I love them! And they will be used in lots of places, including here - in the dining room!
These are amazing buys.

Each piece is wonderful! I really, really need to get out to some yard sales. Looking forward to seeing where these beauties live in Daisy Cottage.
Hmmm . . . there will be a lot of hammering around your house. Have your ear plugs ready. xoxo

The table finds are awesome and the price even more so. I would hate to tell you what I paid for some small tables in this area. I think I should move to Florida. The "pickings" seem to be much better in your area. LOL
Can't wait to see Daisy Cottage with a new roof!

$3!?!? Those would be bargains at 5x the price! Good for you and your hunting skills!

I want to shop where you shop! What great finds!

I love the tables! We keep getting furniture catalogs with high prices... I love that there are things being "loved" twice for as little as $3.00.
Your green roof sounds beautiful too!

Love that you put your wine corks in a dish. We put ours, and we have many, in a big glass bowl we got as a wedding gift 19 years ago. We didn't really know what to do with it, but the corks look really cool in it. Love all the new furniture you got. looking forward to seeing the new green roof. Vicky G.

What wonderful pieces you found. That's my kind of price! I've found a few pieces here (on the other side of the country) for prices nearly as low. I still have to do some work on a couple of mine. Keep your pictures and ideas coming - you inspire me to finish my projects. Anxious to see Daisy Cottage with the new roof.

You got some great deals!! We haven't been to any garage sales at all this year. To much to do at home:) Love the white table.

The white table is simply perfect!
I saw a cool idea regarding collecting wine corks. On the cork, you write the occasion you used the wine or champagne and put them in a large bowl or jar.
I can't wait to see your cottage with the new green roof!

Hi, Kim, you really scored on all those pieces. The white table is my favorite. Love the shape of the legs & the little details. You always find great things. I hear you on the frizzy hair...yardsaling is not for beauty queens. I come dragging home sometimes looking quite pathetic! LOL

Wow, $3 each! You really did well with those two. They're both lovely. We don't have yard sales here. Our equivalent I think are car boot sales but I don't think you would find anything so lovely or so reasonable as those two.

Don't you love garage sale days like that when the prices are right and the things you find are great without a ton of work or a can of paint?? Glad you had a fun one!

All I can say is - AMAZING! I cannot believe you found such cute things for such lovely pricetags! And, as usual, you have made it a work of heart. I love the way you just "quickly put things together" - I should have such talent!

Love the white cottage table...and, I'll echo what others are saying - those are great finds and at bargain prices. I have little tables & bookcases bought from thrift shops, but they cost more & I had to do all the sanding/priming/painting! I like to paint, but it would be great to just find them already in the great cottage colors & with the great lines & details.
Posted by: tammyCA | August 03, 2007 at 11:25 AM
Whoa!! THREE dollars?! What delightful finds. Am with the rest here, in loving especially that white shelf. OMGosh, sure gives me the yard sale bug again! You all have a great "sailing" area! Have a great week-end, and if that green roof doesn't interfere, hope you have more fun sailing! :-)
