... of every brave soul who has ever served our wonderful country. Bless you ALL.

I wanted to share this cute-as-can-be little chicken (or is it a rooster..I never can tell the difference) that my niece, Jamie, painted just for me, just because! Jamie is THE sweetest girl in the world. Isn't this adorable? She did such a great job.
I moved the black buffet from the dining room into the kitchen - hoping to make it my "baking" center, or a kitchen island - my family is adjusting to walking AROUND the buffet and there is a wee bit of grumbling, but give them time- they'll get over it! ;-) Especially when I serve them up some homemade, warm and delicious, peanut butter kiss cookies! I'm off to the store - be safe and have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!
Yes, we must honor those from the past that allow us this day to be able to fly our flag.
I love your black buffet in the kitchen. My buffet in my kitchen serves as my "island" and "baking" center as well.
Have a safe weekend.
Hugs,
Connie

Love the rooster. Sweet niece you have there. I have a rolling pin exactly like the one in the photo. I got it at a church rummage sale. Happy Memorial Day to you tool.

Hi, Kim! Back from the beach & catching up with everyone. Love this post! And I love the black buffet in the kitchen....it looks great. Wish I had room for an island in mine, but I just don't. Have a great weekend, Sweet Kim.
Congrats too on your DD's graduation...I went back & looked at it all & it sounds like it all went well. I'm so happy for you both. A new beginning for all.
Hugs,
Rhoda

It looks good there! Your family will just have to learn to walk around. Remind them of how many of us knew better than them about the wheelbarrel... :)

As the Mother of a disabled Veteran who served in this war (USAF), two nephews who are currently serving in the USMC and niece to three wonderful Uncles who fought during WWII, I'm glad that you, along with so many others in America, remember them this Memorial Day.
I'm honored to live in this country where these men & women who have served us, gave so selflessly of themselves so that we may have the freedoms & privileges that we do. God Bless them all!!!

Thank you for reminding us of the reason we are enjoying this three day weekend. It certainly does mean more than just a chance to have a bbq! We plan to fly our flag too.
Isn't it funny (and predictable) how family members tend to object to changes in the arrangement of the furniture? I had to put everything back the way it was after my husband stubbed and broke his toe during the night!

Nice to know that I am not the only one whose family grumbles when changes happen! It looks great, and I'm sure it will be very functional and they'll get used to it!

I once moved the silverware from one drawer to another on the other side of the kitchen. You would have thought I changed the entire household arragement the way my family grumbled about it for months! They don't get it.

Oh KIm! Your photos as always are so pretty. Beautiful picture of the flag. The little chicken looks almost vintage. She really did a good job. I love the buffet. It would look good right in front of my dining room window!

The cabinet looks great in your kitchen! And I do really love peanut butter kiss cookies, so yummy. The chicken is very cute and was so nice of your niece to do - she knew just what colors to choose didn't she!

I've said it before and I'll say it, again.
I love your decorating colors.
I think every room needs a touch of black.
Great idea using the buffet as a kitchen island.
