My Florida friend, Susan, sooooooooooo sweetly sent me this PERFECTLY yellow teapot and other adorable, vintagy and handmade notions that I just love!!
The package was beautifully wrapped and tied with a red ribbon and the cutest little yellow flower. I am going to treasure her gifts ALWAYS.
I moved a plastic round table that we were using in the back yard to our front porch. I covered it with a tablecloth that belonged to my friend's grandmother . I really think that I am going to like having the table out here. I enjoyed spending a few moments this morning, flipping through some of my favorite books' pages.
It was so nice to relax while listening to the morning birds, and feeling the gentle wind blow by that has been visiting us the last few days. Thank you so much, dear Susan, for making my Thursday morning even brighter! xo, Kim
Edited to answer a few questions ~ Julia, the two books that I have opened in the above pictures are "Mary Emmerling's American Country Cottages" (one of my very favorite books) and "Victorian Details" by Caroll Louise Shreeve. Carol, the book showing the pink table in front of the bed is the one by Mary Emmerling. I found these red chairs at my local Habitat for Humanity store and they were originally a dingy/creamy color. Dear hubby, my resident master spray-painter, painted them red for me. Thanks everyone for your kind comments!!!!
It is a perfect tea pot Kim. What a wonderful friend you have! I can just about hear the kettle whistling...Want some company? I'll bring the banana bread!

This is the first time I've been the subject of a blog entry. :) I'm so glad you like it - I've enjoyed your blog so much, when I saw that teapot it was obvious immediately where it needed to live.

I've heard that just looking at the color yellow can make your happiness level go up. It certainly seems to be the case here, since a simple teapot is making me smile! Oh, and I love that red chair!

The teapot is just right for your yellow cottage. I have the same one in green and just love it. That style, called the 5-cup Rosette made by Shawnee Pottery, dates back to 1941!
Thank you for your nice comments on The T-Cozy today. You must have a lot of catching up to do and I appreciate you stopping by.

Goodness haven't you been busy with graduations and birthdays, you must be so proud, and thrifting chanderliers. Yes I think it would look great with some vintage jewels and you can change them anytime you get bored. So now you can sit and enjoy your afternoon tea from that truly lovely teapot.

What a lovely teapot, aren't friends just the best?!? What a lovely tablecloth and what wonderful books!!! I have a table on my balcony, (I don't have a porch), I love to sit there and enjoy my morning coffe to the music of the birds. Time seems to slow down and life seems so sweet during those stolen moments. hugs, Cindy S.

All I can say is WOW! I thought your porch was "perfect" before - I didn't think it could get any better. I was wrong! This is icing on the cake. You rock Kim and what a lovely gift to receive from a sweet friend. Thanks for sharing and making my day.

Lovely teapot, and it's so right at home now isn't it? That's the same company which made my little green vase. I love the glazes they used. Wish I could find more of the lime green.
Is that the most wonderful front porch sitting area? Yes! I can feel that refreshing breeze while I look at your photo. Missed you!

What a sweet teapot and lovely little gifts. That card is tooooo cute. I love your porch and would love sitting there, enjoying the breeze, a cool drink and a great decorating book or a friend to share it with and talk about decorating.

What a special teapot! Could you please tell me the name of the two books that you have opened. I am intrigued by both of the pages. It might have something to do with my love of antiques and our pickle castor collection.

I found your blog a few weeks ago, and ever since, I have had this wonderfully nagging urge to go thrifting.
This is such a beautiful little corner of the internet. Thanks for all the loveliness!

I LOVE your yellow and red color scheme!! I have that in my bedroom and am slowly using it around the house! I also have a yellow teapot..it just makes the cloudy days seem sunnier :)

I really enjoy your blog. You are such a decorating inspiration. I have gradually been "stealing" ideas from you for my own decorating. I would like to change over to a cottage look a little at a time. When I go to thrift stores now, I look at things with a different eye. Thanks for all the beautiful pictures. I am learning a lot. Hi Kim,
What a lovely cheery teapot - and so perfect for you! You've made a lovely colourful spot, it looks so inviting!
I've just read your previous post, you've been having a wonderful time haven't you?
I LOVE your yellow chandelier! I saw a multi-coloured chandelier recently and was very tempted - but our ceilings are so low we'd be walking into it!
As ever, you create a bright and cheerful home and I only wish I could visit in person!
Clare x
PS. Love your books, they look exactly like the sort of books I'd enjoy!
