Let Your Home Be Your Heart
- What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. Christmas Dressing
The Christmas decorations are strewn about and my cd player is filling the house with beautiful Christmas music. I don't have much done and I'm quickly realizing that I need to get some fresh greenery, scents and candles but the mantle garland is up and some beads have made their way to the buffet. Time to say hello to December and embrace the season!

Landscapes
It's rainy and dreary out today. I was hoping that it was a cold front but I don't think it is. While catching up on the computer I glanced at the wall to my right and realized that I hadn't shared a picture of my newest "landscape" addition. I collect various paintings of landscapes from thrift shops and yard sales. This painting of a stone house is now my favorite- that is until the next one comes along and I fall in love with it!

Cabinet in the Kitchen
Let's see - it is Saturday and I have the house to myself and I am supposed to be cleaning up around here to have everything nice and ready for our Christmas "dressing" of Daisy Cottage. I did wash some dishes and swiffered the floor, BUT then I started to play. Some things have been removed and rearranged for a new look which is always fun - like shopping in your own home without spending any money! I also needed to move this cabinet out of the living room to make space for the Christmas tree next weekend. I kept pushing it across the floors until it ended up back here in the kitchen. Now I am liking it in here! This means that when the Christmas tree is taken to the curb on New Year's day I'll have an empty spot in the living room to fill. Oh darn! ;-) Anyway, before I continue my playing, ahem... I mean cleaning, I thought I'd hop on here and share a picture of the cabinet in the kitchen. Note to self, I must go grocery shopping soon and get something yummy for the cake plate!

Yellow Dress
I found this yellow "Auntie Em" dress at my favorite thrift shop. Someone had lovingly made this years ago. As usual, I brought it home not knowing if I was actually going to wear it - which would be much to my family's chagrin - OR turn it into something else. I just knew that I loved the floral fabric. It has been hanging around for a few weeks until I got a "vision". The next think I knew, the dress somehow landed above our kitchen cabinets! ;-) I think it is kind of cute up there, don't you? You just never know where things will end up here at Daisy Cottage!
