I used to be an avid reader when I was growing up. I loved to read the classics and biographies and of course I simply adored Nancy Drew! How I wanted to be her! My reading habit was cast aside as I discovered new interests and loves along this path called life. However, something must be in the air as I'm feeling the urge to grab my favorite books off of the living room shelves and read them all over again! Yes, I think I'll make a cup of hot chocolate this evening and with Maggie on my lap, embrace the world of Anne, Jo, Nancy, and Pollyanna one more time!
I LOVE PollyAnna!

What lovely books, I also had a spell of non reading, due to small children. However given a little time and a few good books and I was away again. Isn't it lovely to re-read old favourites, like visiting old friends?

We have the same taste in books, I'am just now reading,"RILLA OF INGLESIDE" by L.M. MONTGOMERY. This is about Ann's youngest daughter. So far so good. I also have a very old copy of POLLY-ANNA, what a positive spirit she is.
Also wanted to mention how much I like your site, plan on checking in often.

Kim,
Reading is my passion. My books were Vicki Barr, she became a airline hostess and solve mysteries along the way. LOL In the past, I have reread many of my old favorites and each time they are just as exciting. Enjoy your books and thanks for sharing your passion for books too.

Kim, I just love your little reading spot "and" your choice of books. Speaking of tea and books, three years ago, three friends (couples) visited PE Island and the home that inspired Anne of Green Gables. Since we ladies were giving a Christmas Tea that year, we decided to do an Anne of Green Gables Holiday Tea, I made the pinafores and dresses, and we had such fun. A little old to be playing "house", but then again, maybe not--if you want a good chuckle, you can see the pictures at:

I am not sure I shared these with you before, but you might get a good laugh.

I'm way up here in Canada, and have the same books displayed on my end table in my livingroom. We must be kindred spirits.

I love all those books too and I was a HUGE Nancy Drew fan - I used to pretend I was her and solve all kinds of pretend mysteries! I think I have that same Little Women edition - it has really lovely prints in it.

Kim- I love this post. You've inspired me to write about a book that is special to me. I'll post it later in the week. I'm also going to have to add Pollyanna to my reading list.

I don't know about Pollyanna yet, but I enjoyed reading Anne of Green Gables very much!

Nancy... My favorite was Nancy Drew. They were the only books I would read, that weren't required reading. Ha Ha. I'm so glad I don't have those reading habits any longer. Looking back, she might have been the one who made me love mysteries so much. Thanks for making me think of reading ND on a summer evening on my grandfather's porch in Ybor City.

Kim what a lovely collection of books you have sitting there. I remember back when I read every single Cherry Ames book that was ever written. I wonder if I can still find one of her books? Enjoy your reading time my friend. RJ
