Well this week FLEW by! At least it did for me! Oh, and speaking of flew - our missing Jaybird flew by too and now her box is on its' way!

I wanted to share the happiest of things that have arrived in my mail box or at my door!

When I saw this pillow that Kathy SO beautifully made, I KNEW that I had to have it for Daisy Cottage!

Isn't it the CUTEST??  I LOVE it! Thank you Kathy for creating something so adorable!  If you haven't visited Kathy's Cottage yet, please treat yourself to a visit - you will love her as much as I do.

Remember Kelly?  Well, look at some of the delightful treasures that she SO sweetly sent to me...

Last week I had the GREAT pleasure of meeting Sue - a beautiful member of our Dear Daisy Cottage family!  She is also so incredibly sweet and it was a thrill to have her here.  She wanted me to have this vintage treasure...

The colors are FABULOUS and sooooo perfect for Daisy Cottage!  I LOVE it!

Wasn't that so kind of her?  Thank you Sue for EVERYTHING!  Please promise me that you will visit again and make sure that you bring your sister too!  ;-)

I also wanted to share that I have a story in the latest BEAUTIFUL issue of Romantic Country!  Yay!!!!

I had the honor of writing about our own Janet, of Shabbyfufu! You will LOVE her feature and seeing her gorgeous home - so inspiring as we approach the holiday season!

And speaking of love - you all know how much I love this fabulous girl!

Blogging for Bliss

What is the definition of bliss?

According to several dictionaries, bliss is a noun and means:

1.  Complete happiness
2.  Great joy

Well then, without a doubt, and from the bottom of my heart, I truly blog for BLISS.

AND, I am so excited that Dear Daisy Cottage is included in our very own Tara Frey's beautiful new book, Blogging for Bliss, now being sold at a book store near you!  Blogging for Bliss is a wonderful how-to resource for those of you who are contemplating creating a blog of your own - which I highly recommend that you do! And there is plenty of new inspiration to be found within the pages of the book for those of us who have already been enjoying our adventures in Blogland!  There are oodles and oodles of talented bloggers whose blogs are featured in the book, so I am REALLY honored to be included among them!  Thank you Tara VERY much for this opportunity to have my blog be a part of something so special!!!!

As you know, I started Dear Daisy Cottage on a whim and didn't know if anyone would actually stop by and read about the little things that I would share.  As my blog has unfurled, and as I have met each of you on its' journey, I am constantly amazed and humbled by your sweet, generous, kind, and loving spirits.  I have treasured every comment, every email, every letter, and every gift.  It has been a true privilege getting to know you.

Now, may I brag for a minute?

DEAR DAISY COTTAGE HAS THE BEST READERS EVER.

And that's the truth.

 

I am asked, how long WILL I blog?  Well, I don't know.  I know that I don't want to overstay my welcome.  I've blogged over 500 posts and over two million of you have stopped by.  That in itself just blows me away.  One of the MANY joys of blogging is how small it makes our world and how it brings so many of us together.

But THIS I do know - each and every one of you is a gift and each and every one of you make my little world a better place.

You bring me happiness.

You bring me joy.

You complete me.

YOU ARE THE BLISS.

So I guess as long as you will have me, I will be here.  I would miss you too much.

I would miss you waaaaaaay too much.

Way, way, way, too much.

First, thank you all SO much - from the bottom of my heart, for your outpouring of love for Lenna.  I know that you have helped her enormously as she has helped US to remember those things that are truly important in our lives.  She hopes to join us in Blogland one day and when she does I will share her link with you. Waterside Cottages is written by Barbara Jacksier and photographed by Dan Mayers - two VERY talented spirits who I have had the honor of working with in the past.  You can visit Barbara at her blog, which is always fun and inspirational.  Dan photographed Daisy Cottage for Cottage Style magazine when Barbara was the editor-in-chief and you may visit him and see more of his amazing work at his site.  AND you can visit here to order your OWN autographed copy of Waterside Cottages!  I am LOVING mine!

This book is BEAUTIFUL.  Honestly, it is really really beautiful.   

PLEASE treat yourself to a copy - a lot of labor AND love went into this artful and inspiring book.  Thank you Barbara and Dan for creating something that will, indeed, be a timeless testament to cottages that whisper soul.

Easter Giveaway!

No, I'm not giving Maggie away - who once again is keeping an eye out for the Easter bunny...

Country Sampler Magazine

Pinch me please!!!  Can you believe it?  Daisy Cottage is featured in Country Sampler Magazine's special 2009 Home Tour Edition!! Needless to say, we are THRILLED and so VERY excited - but most of all we are HONORED to be a part of this wonderful publication. If you would like to see the issue, it will be on the stands in March, but you may also order a copy through their website. This issue is filled with home tours, inspiration, and all kinds of decorating ideas!  You will love it!!

We are so thankful to Fifi for submitting and styling our home! She is truly FABULOUS in every single way and we love her to pieces! We will always remember that special day in August when she, once again, did her magic on our home. We want to thank our talented photographer, Mark Sickles, who was very patient with me AND Miss Maggie -  you will see in her photo that she was not in a diva mood!  ;-) We want to thank Donna Marcel, the editor of Country Sampler, for having the vision to include our colorful and yes - quirky home in the magazine.  Thank you SO much Donna for everything!!!  Thank you to EVERYONE who worked on our story and helped to make this dream come true! You are all SO talented!

We share this excitement with my friend, Erin, whose GORGEOUS garden is also featured in this issue! Maggie is wagging her tail in happiness because HER special friend, Bentley - Erin's adorable pup - makes an appearance too!  Congratulations to Erin!!

Now YOU know me.... right?  You know that this means WE celebrate and I do a giveaway!!!  ;-)  My daughter, Shannon, and I, decided to drive out to the country today - in honor of Country Sampler - and do a little shopping for you....
