Nature always seems to know best in the end, though we may find it heart breaking to try and understand. I was concerned for the family's safety, good to hear they are in a private enclosure. Perhaps the littlest could not handle the stress of the move ........

What darling photos of the little baby swans. I am still so sad about the one that died but it's true, the others have each other.

I was so touched, when I read about the baby swan who died. Such little ones are so precious, so innocent and sweet.
For the past 2 weeks, we have had 2 kittens and a mother cat, living on our patio. The mother sort of "adopted" us, a few months ago, but we had no idea she'd had kittens. They just appeared, when they were about 4 weeks old! (We think she had made them a little home, behind some boxes we keep out there). Anyway, what a gift these little ones have been! Such a joy, to watch them play and grow; and what a wonderful mama kitty they have! I love to watch her, as she grooms them & teaches them; and as they all cuddle up to sleep together.
And how I miss them, when the 3 of them are not in sight! I worry that something may be amiss, until I see their little furry, fluffy black and white faces again. Indeed, a life is a life is a life...these little ones bless us, so very much! Thank you for sharing the baby swan's story with us.

Oh, Kim, could just cry again, how sweet & precious, little ones snuggled together asleep and one just waking up. The flowers are beautiful too. You could definitely be a famous photographer. Also, always, could just see a children's book on the shelves about the Life of Maggie & Marley. Your a woman of many talents for sure and thanks so much for sharing them with us! Love ya, Cindy Okla

I'm so glad we have each other. We are all a garden of friends that I never would have met if it hadn't been for you, Kim, and Dear Daisy Cottage. You helped me find the sun again. Missy is right, your series of swan photos would make a wonderful book about life, love, and loss. Thank you for sharing their continuing miracle. Hugs, Terri

Kim, I just wanted to let you know (after lurking silently for a few months) how much I love your blog, your home and spirit are an inspiration, and this site, a little island of peace in a sometimes stormy sea. I sometimes keep your site up on my computer at work (minimized of course) while I am working. When things get crazy, as they often do, I take a minute and escape to my "happy place", Daisy Cottage, then I return to the chaos just a little calmer .....
Thanks so much for what you do,

Kim, It seems me share much...I, too, have a deep, deep, love for all my swans, geese, ducks and anything else that comes in my yard to feed. Right now...I have a Mama Deer, and her two babes...Sooo precious...My black swan is sitting on a nest and her hubby is sure protecting her, too! :O) I pray these babes make it...Our snapping turtles seem to get the best of the babes on the lake. :O( God Bless you and your care for the fowl..I understand...
