I'm hosting a ladies' event at my home tonight so I am cleaning and scrubbing away but I wanted to take a break and say hi and show you my $5 cotton dress that I found at a local thrift shop the other day! I will wear it with my red boots and red jewelry that I got at Goodwill. :-)
I hope YOU are having a GREAT GREAT day. And thank you again for EVERYTHING. I will reply to your emails as soon as I can too.
You are simply THE BEST.
Back soon,
Kim

I AM having a good day---writing and feeling the Fall breeze through all the windows and doors.
Have a bright, beautiful one yourself!!

What a great find, Kim, and it fits you fantastically! I can't do clothes at the thrift store. Sometimes I think I can and when I look at a top or whatever that catches my eye I alway find a stain or something that just brings me right back to my "I don't get clothes at thrift stores" motto. You, however, did very well.

Don't you just love a bargain? I do. Now, if only I was as small as you. :-( You are a doll.

You look awesome. I always loved those white cotton dresses. I bought my first wedding dress, a long white cotton with embroidery, at Joseph Magnin dept.. store ( in Sherman Oaks, Ca), in 1974. The 70's was the height of the granny dress craze. Then, I was a size 4, probably like you are now. Anywho, after I wore it for the wedding, I wore it til it fell apart. Have fun tonight.

I love your dress. It is everything a summer dress should be - the lace, the pin tucks, the sheer (is it lawn?) fabric. As my grandmothers would have said, "It looks very ladylike." And yet it is perfectly in style right now!

In today's post you are holding a camera - if possible, could you say which camera it is? I am in the market for a new one, and yours takes great pictures.

Kim,
You look so cute in that $5 dress. I have a white eyelet
dress I bought for $5, too. I love the way it feels
when I wear it...comfortable! Fun to dress it up with beads and boots!
I just went to Bunco last night and we did appetizers, too.
I made a baked broccoli dip, but your meat ball recipe would be easier. I have had it made with cranberry sauce.
I hope you had fun! One of our Bunco ladies came after having a face lift - she looks great! ;-)

$5.00? SCORE! Do you ever feel like you shouldn't tell people about all the great stuff at thrift stores? I struggle with wanting to tell everyone about the great stuff I find, yet not wanting even MORE people hitting the thrifts, more for the rest of us who already know! :)
Posted by: Anne | September 11, 2010 at 09:13 PM
Fantastic find!
I love to share my bargains with my bargain loving friends. We get giddy over such fab deals.
Love the red jewelry!!

I wish I still looked as cute as you do in such a SMALL SIZE. :)
Thanks for the recipe, I'd forgotten about that one. I immediately pulled out a recipe card to add it to my card file (giving credit to YOU, of course).
My favorite Crockpot recipe is so simple. I take a round roast (easier than chuck roast since you don't have to "defat" it when done) and pour in two cans of Cream of Mushroom soup. Sometimes I'll add fresh mushrooms or a small can of mushrooms from the pantry.
I cook this on slow all day, until the meat is fork tender and a delicious gravy has been made. Since my kids are all grown, I now serve part of it with mashed potatoes and put part in the freezer.
Most often I place the second half of the delicious beef-gravy mix in a casserole dish and top with mashed potatoes to pop in the oven (a quick shepherd's pie).
Recently I made the Crockpot recipe and circumstances prevented us from having it for dinner. I just put the entire amount in a Zip Lock freezer bag to be pulled out yesterday when I needed a quick meal. It is definitely a cool weather favorite.
