Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Yum...I'll be scrambling eggs when I get home tonight for sure...

Funny, reading this at 11am - and last night I had a midnight snack of scambled eggs. I cannot even remember the last time I had them......and them come to Daisy and there is your awesome pic of yours! Neat. Always feel so connected to this site and to you, Kim.

I completely enjoyed yours, and hope you did, too.

I didn't have breakfast....maybe some more eggs, lol. Must need our protein, huh?

I use Mrs. Dash on mine, all that flavor and no added salt, which I worst habit.........

How yummy. It reminds me that it has been a long time since I made myself a hot breakfast!

You make them look so delicious, Kim. I think I'll make some for dinner tonight. Eggs are a simple food and yet so yummy.

Suzy Miller

Well, of course I would love some eggs! I happen to love them scrambled and I've been known to have them over easy!
I really like your picture and I really like that beautiful plate those eggs are sitting on...It's FUN!

Have a truly great catchin up kind of day, Kim.

I like mine scrambled with a little bit of American Cheese! Don't worry, you will get caught up in the words of the great Doris Day, "Que Sera Sera!"

I hope you have a wonderful get back to!

Thanks, Kim! I will have mine scrambled. When I was young, I liked my eggs with catsup! Now, that doesn't sound so appealing.....My husband will not touch an egg! I don't know what is wrong with him when we all know it is one of God's perfect foods! Have a good weekend.:)

Sherry Smith

Looks delicious. Thank you for the invite. Wish I was there. You make things look so inviting with your pretty dishes.

Those scrambled eggs would go mighty fine with a slice of my homemade sour dough bread! Yum.

Jolie Anne

Hi Kim,

Enjoyed this post and how simple you make your breakfast look. I am trying to eat less and add more exercise to my
summer days since I am not working for the summer.
I am sewing and enjoying my day today.
Mondays are my day to catch up and by the weekend I can have fun!

We have scrambled eggs for breakfast a couple of times a week, at least. I prefer scrambled with a little water added, to make a fluffy mix. My husband loves them with cream cheese and cheese, to make them really creamy.

This is a busy time for us also. We are awaiting the birth of our first granddaughter!

Sweet Kim,
You always make me smile. I would love some eggs, fixed anyway. I love your blog and can't wait everyday to see what you write about and all the lovely pictures you take. Hope you have a wonderful day and weekend.
Blessings to you,
p.s. I also like your music, sometimes late at night when I can't sleep I'll look up your blog and just listen to the music. Blessings.

Shh...don't tell anyone but I like my scrambled eggs with ketchup. Eek!

Susan Freeman

Love scrambled eggs and soft boiled ones in egg cups with strips of buttered toast to dip in the yolk! Have a wonderful day Kim. Get all caught up with your projects so you can sit back, relax and enjoy your charming cottage!!

I had scrambled eggs, with cheese this morning. And toast with homemade cherry jam. Yum.

My grand was here for 2 days so little got done in the way of housework. But that is okay, we did the important things together-baked a cake for a bake sale at work, made stuffies, read, etc etc.

So I was "scramblin" this morning too.

Late last night, hubby and I got home and HAD to have some comfort food. What did we eat? Scrambled Eggs & toast of COURSE! :) Great minds think alike.

Privet and Holly

Good thing that scrambled eggs are GOOD anytime of the day! I've been scrambling, too.... Last week of school and so much crammed into every single day. I'm looking forward to a date with Mr. Privet ~ sipping a glass of cold white wine, looking into his beautiful browns and getting caught up with one another! Hope YOU got caught up....Although, do we ever?
Really? Think not being caught up means that we have full and wonderful lives. Here's to YOURS and a happy weekend, as well, Kim! xx Suzanne

Our younger son LOVES scrambled eggs! I like scrambled eggs with some Velveeta cooked in. My favorite way for eggs is over-medium (firm white, runny yolk), with toast or hashbrowns.

Or I like eggs in a CUSTARD PIE. :)

I might say that if the eggs don't wake you up, that cute dish will! :)

Lynn Paterson

So so hungary now .......the eggs looks delicious and mouth-watering! Hung the vintage oil picture (from your giveaway) in my newly redecorated laundry'll see photos on my blog today and there is a link to your blog too. Just love that painting! Have a great weekend!

Hi, Kim - I love 'em just the way they look here! In fact, I just might have to fix some for dinner tonight now that I saw yours! Have a fun weekend!

Trish Rowley

Hi Kim, I'm bad with scrambled eggs I cook them with cream and lots of salt and pepper Yum!! It's a long weekend here in Australia so I will be doing some catch up work have a Blessed weekend. Trish xox ;)

Maura @ Lilac Lane Cottage

Oh Yum...I LOVE scrambled eggs.. I'll bring you some of our eggs from the chickens this morning ok! ;-) Maura

I missed your menu this morning---was all wrapped up in having parfaits with three GrandChildren---we always have those at least one breakfast when they visit.

They love piling layers of yogurt, strawberries, blueberries and granola into little sherbet dishes, then completely hiding the whole thing with great curls and swoops from the Redi-Wip can.

Are you free Monday?? I'll be REALLY LONELY on Monday.

Lorrie Simons

I always say "the faster I go, the behinder I get." Seems like I'm always behind one something, so you are not alone.
I only like scrambled, well done eggs and most of the time with ketchup. I know it sounds gross, but that's how I've eaten them since I was a kid. Recently, I tried them with mild salsa and that was good, too.
Love the blog, it's so happy :)

I like my eggs scrambled and in a tortilla!

Barbara Anne

Delicious! Eggs are wonderful with no added ingredients, but also with such a wonderful variety of added ingredients! I'll have mine with bacon and a mini bagel with butter and our peach jam, please and thank you! I'll bring the jam!!!!

Sara Humphries

I love your site, Kim. It's like a serene mini-vacation. Ever tried your scramble with goat cheese and green onions? And if you really want to take it over the top, add some asparagus - yum.

Darlin you make simple scrambled eggs look poetic

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

Thank You Rose!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

Thank you Pamela!

  • "I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela

  • "Your blog has helped me start to see the beauty in life again." ~ Joy

Thank You Anne!

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne

Thank You Betty Jo!

  • "You truly inspire me to do whatever I can in my own little nest. I've always been an artistic dreamer, but you've enlarged my dreams with your way of seeing." ~ Betty Jo
