Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim

Ohmygosh, if Oliver won't go for a walk with her, I WILL. I can't imagine any person or any-doggy wanting to hurt that little lady of yours. My goodness she sure is smitten with her new beau☺

This post is just so precious!

amy mccoy

Hi Kim,
I also have a talking dog. She actually has her own blog, maybe Maggie May can stop by and chat someday.

Hehehe! That was so cute! I love Maggie!

All the best,

Uta Steguweit

Oh sooo cute!! I only have a serious old grey cat, and she would turn into a wild one if I only would put anything on her body, but there are times when she is kind of love-ill (I don't know the right words for it:)) then she isn't the same, she always rolls on the carpet and want to be touched and you can do everything with her:)
Yes, the spring.....
Greatings from Uta!

Teacup Lady (Sandy)

What cute doggies! You could post about Miss Maggie everyday! She is so photogenic!

Teacup Lady (Sandy)

Too sweet Kim! Life would be boring without our furry family memebers, wouldn't it?
Have a nice weekend!

Maggie's so cute; Oliver is, too. Hope that that walk is coming soon. Thanks for the amusement this morning...

Too cute! Oliver peering over the tulips at Maggie cracked me up:>)

Your dog is just too cute! My hubby wants some doxies and I'll definitely let him have some when we get another dog.... whenever that may be.... but your pup is precious! :) And so is the other doggie... love his eyes!

Diane Duda

How romantic. :)

...and Oliver could not look any more like my sweet, late Tucker Magnolia. Now I'm missin' her. :(

Kim, I love it. I want them both. Too cute. How could anyone mistreat animals. They are so precious and smart. I hope we see pictures of the 1st date.

Our Red House

Oh dear, they are so sweet and so funny. Can we expect puppies any time soon?

Soo cute and innocent. The pics are just the sweetest!

Adorable!! What a cute couple Maggie & Oliver are :-). Have a great weekend Kim.

Lea Harper

Oh Maggie May, you are so sweet.

As if drooling over your cottage isn't enough....I'm so in love with your Maggie too! What personality she has! And a new little boyfriend to boot!

Patty Boyd

How cute. I adore Maggie. We don't have a dog because our grandson is allergic. We'll just have to keep up with Maggie and Oliver and enjoy them. Have a great weekend. The weather is gorgeous in Tennessee this weekend! Blessings, Patty

Kelee Katillac

Darling Kim and Precious Maggie!

I am going to read this to Oliver Wendell very soon! He is out touring his Katillac Shack yard right now! I want to prepare him! I know he will be excited beyond belief and want to get in the Cadillac covertible and head to Florida! Cant you see the two of them in the back seat?!

love, kelee

You always manage to capture the best pictures of Miss Maggie - she's so photogenic. Oliver is going to be ready for a walk soon, I'm thinking!

Oh my gosh, this is SO adorable! Truly a wonderful little love story.

Oh Goodness, I do believe this is the most precious post I have ever seen! It brightened my day and even brought "happy" tears to my eyes!!!

Bobbie Lynn

Oh Kim, that is the sweetest post ever. I just want to kiss them both. Love dogs and I have a corgie and he is a cutie pie too. Have a wonderful weekend.

The last picture of her by the flower pot should be framed. She is so precious. I don't think Oliver realizes what a feminine girl friend he has.

Hi Kim,
I knew it, they are so cute and I can't wait to see them together. You have a great talent with the camera. (((hugs))) Jan

Hi Kim, for got to post the website. I have enjoyed and followed you for awhile and now will continue with Kelee also. ((((Hugs)))) Jan

Oh that's sooo cute! She's a very good writer...much better than I was back in junior high when I used to write to the boy I liked, " Dear X, I like you. Do you like me? Circle: yes or no."

I hope they go on their walk very soon and I hope she tells us all about it!

Fickleness thy name is Maggie.

I thought we had something special. That we understood each other. Sure, these long-dog/long-distance things are seldom smooth, but now I see you have a new hound in your life. Flowers, Maggie? I never knew you like flowers. I thought that the occasional stick and dead chickadee was romantic AND original. But you sold me out for some lousy tulips and some soul full eyes.

Well, I hope you two are very happy on your little walk. Really. I'm not bitter. There are other dogs in the park.

If you want me I'll be listening to Sade on my iPup or watching The Notebook over and over and NOT THINKING ABOUT YOU. Or your cute little bandanna. Or the way your ears look all fluffy when you're napping.

This could very well be the absolute cutest post I've ever seen! Maggie is precious.

I swear she was batting her eyelashes! TOO cute!!

Jeanette Carlstrom

You are the QUEEN of blogs I am convinced. Your large type, adorable close up pictures and the way you use words just goes SMACK to the heart. It is an honor to read your blog every day.

I like that Maggie's mom is making her take it slow. I think a walk is the perfect way to get to know each other, because Maggie seems like a tender little blossom! What a great saga, and I'll continue to tune in!

Mary Jane Smith

Well, that post was just TOO cute!! :-)

Kim, I have a question. In your post about the book cozies, you show a yellow mug on a saucer. Is that Fiestaware? If so, what cup is that? I have some Fiestaware mugs and I never use them for coffee because the handles are really small and I always burn my finger on the cups. But yours look more like mugs. Just curious!

Mary Jane

Kelee Katillac

Hi Everyone!

don't forget to stop by The Katillac Shack and claim your giveaway prizes. We need addresses!

You all are so precious and fun! Oliver just fell asleep on the sofa and I think he was dreaming of Maggie...chasing her on the beach! His leg were going and he was letting out little coos!

love, kelee

Susan Ramey Cleveland

I bet Oliver is melting by now. That Maggie is just too sweet.

What a sweet letter!

I do believe she is in love and quietly pines for her Oliver.

Such a beautiful couple indeed!

Oh Kim ~ Miss Maggie is just too sweet! I would let Mr. Bear come and walk with her...he would be in lovvvveee!!!

What a flirt!!!!

Mermaid Debbie

Too Darn Cute! I think you two mommies should make a Maggie and Oliver movie. I love it!

Dear Maggie, You're such a beautiful sweet little girl. Your momma takes beautiful pictures of you, too. I hope you get to take a walk with Oliver soon.

Betty Jo

OMGosh! These are the sweetest photos ever. I'm looking forward to hearing of Maggie and Oliver's walk. ♥

That is an adorable post, I'm smiling and smiling, darling doggies. Maggie could be a real heartbreaker. Hope not!

Staci Danford

Your blog is just so eye YUMMY...
Love it... I want to just squeeze that sweet doggie..

debbie ragan

Now that was just too cute! Maggie is so photogenic! My dog won't hold still long enough for me to photograph her. She wants to lick the camera.
Last night, I made your hot chicken salad, and it was a big hit around my house. Thanks. laurie

This is one of the cutest posts I have ever, ever seen! Tell Oliver he is a handsome guy but he had better treat Maggie like a lady!

Maggie is such a precious little lady. I'm glad she's met Oliver, who appears to be quite the gentleman!

Well, here I am with a big ole silly grin all over my face. That is just the sweetest thing ever!

Randee Willmore

Maggie is so cute, I think this could be the start of something really big for these two. Tell Maggie to play a little hard to get as that seems to work with the guys.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Randee and Mary Kate in Houston

Kim and Miss Maggie,
We have 3 darling Basset Hounds and I believe (as a Basset fan) Mr. Oliver is one of the most handsome Basset boys I've seen. Best of luck to you, darling Maggie, on your romance with this young man.
Many Blessings,

Sweet Cottage Dreams

Mr. Oliver has those sexy bedroom eyes and I can see why he swoooooons little Miss Maggie dear!!! Now Duhgall is going to be so jealous!!!!!!!! I won't breath a word of this to him ... nope, not at all.

SoBella Creations

How adorable!

Uh oh. My Oliver went on vacation this past week and look what happened. It appears his chances with Maggie have gone by the wayside to another Oliver. He's under the desk pouting now and giving large sighs. I told him to read the fine print.....something about flowers. He should have known a girl loves flowers, and especially in Daisy Cottage colors. He'll have to live and learn. I on the other hand thank you for introducing us to Kelee. I have a feeling I'm going to waste the rest of my afternoon in the most delightful way.

Laurie A.E.

You should make a little book of this. Honestly. The great pictures and the letters ... soooo many people would LOVE it!

Thank You Dena!

  • "Kim, I love your blog. I so appreciate you sharing every day. I miss you when you're gone. Losing my dear sweet baby boy in Iraq has made me treasure life and those so dear to me. Reading your blog is such therapy for me. You have made me treasure the finer things in life that I use to overlook. Birds singing, flowers blooming, my home and all of the treasures within it. I'm not sure that I ever looked at a teacup or saucer and saw such detail and beauty in it." ~ Dena

Thank You Grace!

  • "I would like to let you know what a joy it is to wake up each morning and read your delightful blog. I always feel as if you are speaking directly to me. Since I was diagnosed with an immune disease a year ago I wanted only to read positive and very inspiring blogs and your blog was the first I found. I think maybe the good Lord meant for me to find your blog and since then it has been nothing but smiles all around. I have tried very hard to stay positive about this disease and very up beat. I know that there is no cure and I have accepted this, but reading things with a positive message and filled with so much love helps. This is where you come in and I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart and to let you know how very much you and Miss Maggie are loved." ~ Grace

Thank You Francesca!

  • "Oh my! I have just stepped into heaven. A nostalgic, magic, getaway place where folk love one another and life is sweet. Kim, you will probably never know just how many hearts you have touched with your site. " ~ Francesca

Thank You Kathy!

  • "I visited my friends with their tasteful beige homes and sometimes questioned if there was anyone else in this world who loved the things I did. Then I found Daisy Cottage and a whole community of other women who shop the side of the road, paint their furniture fun colors, and aren't afraid to fill their homes with touches of whimsy and fun. What a relief! We aren't alone! I'm not alone. Thanks for all your inspiration and for confidently sharing your home and the idea that we can have fun with our decorating. I never get tired of visiting here Kim." ~ Kathy

Thank you Rue!

  • "That hankie is like you and your blog Kim. In the middle of all of the other beautiful hankies, it's the one that stands out and makes you feel at home." ~ Rue

Thank You Jeanette!

  • "Sigh.... between your music, red and yellow mellow feeling and wonderful writing I just feel so calm. What would I do without you in the morning with my cup of coffee." ~ Jeanette

Thank You Lenna!

  • "My eyes have been opened to a world I never knew existed. Such vibrant creativity, such caring community: it literally takes my breath away. After so much loneliness and isolation it is overwhelming to me that such a world even exists. In time I hope to be able to fill my garden of life with lovely, loving friends instead of the weeds of loneliness. Until that time lace tablecloths will come out of storage, music and lovely scents will fill the air of this home. And I shall visit the Daisy Cottage when I feel despair raise its dark, obscuring head, for I know from experience, that it is ever lurking behind that next bout of pain and weakness. Your kind and generous response has strengthened my resolve, you have helped me more than you will ever know, my new-found friend." ~ Lenna

Thank You Rose!

  • "What I love best about Daisy Cottage is Kim. I love the way you appreciate every good thing in life and embrace joy in every moment." ~ Rose

Thank You Lisa!

  • "Here's how I can best describe into words how your blog made me feel. You know when you wake up in the morning and there's an early morning thunderstorm and every room in your house is as dark as night? Then, the rain and thunder stop and the sun comes shining through all the windows and you just know it's going to be a beautiful, sunshine day? Well, that's how finding Dear Daisy Cottage made me feel. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Kim. You blessed my day and may God do the same for you." ~ Lisa B.

Thank you Pamela!

  • "I am so touched by your words and photographs. Whether in happy or sad times, you inspire my heart and soul. We all need each other's light and you offer us that dose of sunshine." ~ Pamela

Thank you Joy!

  • "Your blog has helped me start to see the beauty in life again." ~ Joy

Thank You Anne!

  • "Thank you for your wonderful blog. I have been "lurking" but had to share with you how much you have helped me embrace the fun of decorating. I came to your blog looking for pictures to inspire me as I redecorate my house with cottage style. Today I was so tangled up in doing it "right" that it was really depressing me. I visited your blog again for some fresh ideas and came away realizing that there is no "right." Just me being me and enjoying my home! I am laying here in bed with tears in my eyes - tears of happiness that it is okay to be me and let that shine through in my house and what I wear and what I make with my hands. You are God's gift to me today and I thank Him and you." ~ Anne

Thank You Tracy!

  • "Your words and thoughts of encouragement help me see myself with value. You are a blessing. Thank you." ~ Tracy

Thank you Karen!

  • "Your humble spirit has not changed through your many posts here in Blogland. You have been blessed with a special gift and I am very thankful you share it with us." ~ Karen

Thank You Betty Jo!

  • "You truly inspire me to do whatever I can in my own little nest. I've always been an artistic dreamer, but you've enlarged my dreams with your way of seeing." ~ Betty Jo
