A Reminder

Img_5314

I'm not putting the punch bowl away, even though the holidays have come and gone.

And I'm not going to fill it with pretty green apples, like I did here.

I think I am going to leave it on the red buffet, ready at a minutes notice to be filled with frothy delicious punch, and as a reminder of the recent joyful celebrations that we had at Daisy Cottage.

And to help us remember, that EVERY day is, indeed, worth celebrating.

Every single day.

*edited so that I may share my favorite punch recipe*

Sister Jill's Pineapple Champagne Punch

1 can of pineapple juice

1 liter gingerale

1 container of pineapple sherbert

1 small bottle of champagne (optional)

Mix together in a punch bowl right before serving and most importantly - ENJOY!

;-)

What a great reminder. Thank you! ~Kelly

I just read an article recently talking about using the special things we have instead of saving them for company. Go ahead and use the new nice sheets, break out the china for Sunday lunch. Buy flowers just for everyday and savor in the special things we do for others. Do them for our own pleasure.

So very sweet! ~Mandy

I've been looking for just the right old punch bowl. We have a family tradition of coffee punch every Christmas Eve and I would so love to have a punch bowl for it. Absolutely Kim! Every day is worth celebrating. You so inspire me to reach higher each time I visit and read your delightful posts. Thank you Sweetheart!! xoxo

I use all my stuff ALL the time....going to get the punch bowl out.

Great idea. Love your message.

Hi sweet Kim :)

That's a beautiful reminder, one that I would treasure myself. I can't believe the holidays are over!

All of your presents in the last post are wonderful. I don't know of the others, but I just love Sheila. She has one of the kindest hearts in Blogland, just like you ;)

love to you,
rue

Hi Kim!
I wanted to tell you I have just enough $$ stashed away to buy myself the Canon powershot G9 for my 50th bday in March.
Do you realy still love it? I am looking for something to hang around my neck for my daytrips to NYC etc.
Love the punch bowl ~ I have the same one!
Their is something SO exciting about putting the little hooks on the glass!
LOL! Terri

Hi Terri!
How exciting! A new camera! YES - I LOVE my camera! I think you will too!

((hugs))

I think that's a great idea, Kim! I like it there, and I like why you have it there. :-) I left my tree up because I have some out of town guests coming, and I wanted them to feel like our celebration is part of Christmas because I didn't get to see two of them then. I guess the decorations will come down eventually... hopefully by Valentine's! ;-)

XO,

Sheila

What a great idea... and a great reminder that life is such a gift and everyday is worth celebrating. I hope tosee you soon.
Kim

It's always nice to be able to enjoy our pretties every day! Do you have a favorite punch recipe, Kim?

You have a GREAT attitude, Kim. And we all need to be reminded of how special each day is once in a while.
Thanks!

It's so hot here that cold summer punch sounds like the perfect drink.

I have nominated you for a blog award. Please come and visit to find out more.

Kate

Kim, How exciting! I have a punch bowl just like that! I use it often! And I also have 15 luncheon plates that I use instead of paper plates. I use them a lot! Thank you for reminding us to celebrate each day! xo rachel

Morning, Kim! I love that prett punch bowl! I have an old one my aunt passed down to me and I leave it out on my old antique server most of the time. It's there now! Yay! Every day we have breath is a day to celebrate! Happy New Year!

Hello Dear Kim~
So nice to come for a visit. I can always count on coming by to unwind and be filled with new energy. My visit was wonderful.
Hugs, Donna

Thanks so much for the recipe. Yummy! I would keep that beautiful bowl out too! :)

What a lovely thought. It reminds me of the old sentiment that Christmas is a frame of mind and should be kept everyday.

I hope your week is filled with much beauty and love,
Jennifer

I love punch bowls. I broke all of our cups during a move once! Thanks the punch recipe!

I will try that recipe out - and WITH the champagne, too! Today I am having whiskey in my hot tea to chase to coodie bugs away. ha!

I miss you, Kim! Have the very best of a new week!!!!

xoxo
Becky

Thanks for adding the Pineapple Champagne Punch recipe, Kim! I love pineapple!

Great idea. I would keep it out to as a reminder to myself that I need to not only add color in 2009 ;) but that I also need to have more people over
:)

Beautiful reminder. Jill's punch sounds especially good.

I have a punch bowl exactly like yours! Everyday celebrations are the very best kind. I love using my pretty dishes.

Lorrie

Let Your Home Be Your Heart

  • What I hope for my readers and for all keepers of the nest, is that they embrace their homes with their heart and all of the passion that it holds. I want them to know that they can decorate on a limited budget by seeing things in new ways; by rescuing the broken and transforming the ugly. I hope that they flaunt their favorite color and decorate their life with it. I hope that their homes feel like one giant hug that welcomes them each and every time they walk through their front door. More than anything I want everyone to have their own home-sweet-home dream come true! xo, Kim
