Isn't it wonderful when we can see the beauty in the less than perfect things that surround us and even in the shabby, old, and discarded? We ARE lucky, aren't we?

I think so.

Hi Kim,
I couldn't agree more. We are blessed. If you have seen my recent posts, I had a post about aqua and how I love it so I think I'll take that chair please.

Hugs,
LeAnn :)

We sure are blessed and those who are creative are doubly so! (That'd be you, Kim!)

I couldn't agree more, we are very lucky to see the beauty in old, used, battered and preloved items.
That chair, might I add, is gorgeous

Oh yes we are!

Oh yes we are!

I was watching HGTV's green home giveaway a few weeks ago and I was struck by how they went on and on about buying used furniture and fixing it up or re-purposing it instead of buying new, thus keeping the old stuff out of the landfills. We were all "green" long before this "green" revival!

I would say, most of our most loved things have dents and dings, just like we do!

We have a little school desk and chair. Your chair looks like ours. It hasn't been painted. There are little symbols and things scratched in the desk, long ago, by a school girl or boy.

Pat

I couldn't agree more! (But I wish I had YOUR sources for these finds) :-)

Hi Kim
Wouldn't it be great if aging, and wear and tear made us look better as we got older?
I am having a giveaway to celebrate my 19th post. Hope you can stop by.
Hugs
Rhondi

oops! 100th post!

Those glasses are true gems! I wish my oldest daughter could find beauty in old things. Everything has to come from Pottery Barn. It looks old, it just isn't!
Brenda

Yes, I agree with you, totally. I love to repurpose. xoRachel

Happy Sunday Kim :)

Oh, I agree with you.

I know some people that don't understand the fascination with the old and/or discarded and it always amazes me. I can see the history and the beauty, why can't they?

We are VERY lucky :)

hugs and love,
rue

Great post Kim. Love that chair
Alison

Love the those glasses. How great they would look on my summer table :-)

Have the best of weeks :-) Rosie

Yes we are lucky!!
We see the beauty in things other people do not.
Thanks for visiting me,
Rosemary

I agree, we are lucky to be happy with found bargains and diamonds in the rough:>) Maybe we relate to them a little?

Kim, you'd be so proud of me! I had Tuesday off, and after my well-woman and mammogram, and lunch at my favorite French restaurant, I checked out an antique shop that a friend had told me about. I now have a wardrobe [from Scotland, no less!] on layaway. Yes, there will be pictures when it's mine-all-mine.

Kim, it's so nice to know that other people find old things beautiful! I love your chair but I really love your etched water glasses. You are a great photographer! I think if everyone learned to value the beauty in the old and tarnished this world would be such a nicer place. Cassie

Yes Kim! I love old....worn, chippy, comfy things from the past. Your pictures capture the beauty perfectly.
Hugs to you MY Friend!!
Penny

I think so too.

Hugs!
Kat

Your blog is so CHARMY! And your house is DARLING! PRECIOUS! Thank you for sharing such LOVELY things!

I also think so! Precious those glasses!

You are right. We ARE blessed. The more chipped and rugged the better. It looks more loved!

P.S. Do you have any recommendations for a camera? Your pictures are always so fantastic.
