Thank you, THANK YOU! Oh I am loving all of your color suggestions for the table and chairs! I haven't decided yet, but will soon, and when they are freshly painted, I will share their new look with you. Promise! psst..I am leaning towards blue.
I know that I've shared these mirrors in our stairwell before, but now I've painted the silver and gold ones white, and I thought I would share them again. I was VERY lazy and didn't tape off the mirrors.. just quickly brushed on flat, latex wall paint, and rehung them in different spots.
Some were painted all the way.. some were lightly brushed..
They were hung randomly and without too much attention to spacing..
It was fun giving these Goodwill mirrors a fresh look! And there is always room for more! ;-)
I do this all the time - once I get my paint brush out, there is NO stopping me and I find myself painting just about everything in sight.. well maybe not everything, but darn near close! ;-)
Yesterday, I repainted ALL of the mirrors in our stairwell, WHITE, for a more cottagy look and I rehung them in different places. I'll share those soon. Now my attention is directed to our courtyard - where many of my thrifted treasures are right at home....
My question for you is - should I paint this rusty old table and chair set, and if so, what color? Red? White? Blue?
I promise NOT to paint Maggie - although she has been known to walk around with a little bit of paint in her hair when Mommy is in one of her painting moods! ;-)
AND, speaking of red, white, and blue - may we remember ALL those who have served and who are currently serving our beautiful country so bravely and selflessly this Memorial Day (and every day).
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.
Well, the putzing did continue into the kitchen, and while I tried to rearrange and clean up some of the clutter, I'm not sure if I was very successful with that! I did paint a cabinet that was in our bedroom, white, and moved it in here for extra storage. Isn't this letter K fun? I bought it on sale at Anthropologie in Miami...
Now that my counters are somewhat clean, I need to get out my favorite mixing bowl, don my favorite apron, and make a birthday cake for my favorite daughter who is turning 19 tomorrow!
where oh where have the years gone?
Nothing exciting....
Just putzing...
(don't you love that word?)
Anywho - doing some putzing in the hall...
Dusting, putting things away - putting things back...
No biggie - just putzing......
*edited* to confess that now I've been putzing in the dining room...
Kitchen, here I come!!!!! ;-)

For Lisa.... xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
(by the way, our little Doxie Diva is sooooo proud of her newly grown chest hair!)
;-)
Just for fun, I propped this old fireplace mantel surround that I got from Vintage, against our dining room wall....
And speaking of fun, I am painting an old buffet that was sitting where the mantel is now, RED - but I'm leaving the drawers the way they are. This is going to be our wine bar.......
If you want to have a little decorating fun, grab a paint brush and paint something in one of your favorite colors - don't worry about achieving "perfect" results ... you'll love it anyway! ;-)
I had a WONDERFUL Mother's Day and I hope that you did too!
I was spoiled with cards, flowers, presents, lunch AND dinner and of course sweet Maggie kisses! ;-)
As we traditionally do, we strolled down our sidewalk to Mayfaire, which is held every Mother's Day weekend....
There were many displays of colorful art.....
And colorful birds also joined in the fun.....
Lots of hot babies were pushed in style......
And very hot doggies were VERY good sports .....
pssst.... this is Maggie's cute cousin - Bo!
There were plenty of pretty places to cool down....
And ladies wore their pretty hats......
Lemonade was available to quench the thirst....
And plenty of fair food was on hand to satisfy appetites....
It was a lovely time - I SO love living downtown. :-)

At the end of the day,
As the sun dipped from the sky
My heart knew ONCE AGAIN,
How very blessed am I.
